My Motorcycle History, vol 1.

The movie "Easy Rider" (1969) added driving on two Wheels to the interpretation of freedom from bourgeois living. I too wanted to take the ride into freedom and started customizing what I had at hand - an old french moped.
It was a Mobylette which could make 55km/h, but it gave some idea of the freedom of riding.

Later on I made a trip with a girlfriend on an MZ150 through Germany and Holland to Wales ..... and back again! The fact that motorcycling was more common in Great Britain than in Denmark made it more comfortable to ride there. The british were more friendly to motorcyclists and more reliable in the traffic.
I was going to return several times after that trip.
Somewhere in Wales

The Jawa 350. Tuned, changed and repainted. A Jawa 350, like this one, has got a two-stroke engine. I widened  the ports and polished the channels. On a good day it made up to 150 km/h. Unfortunately the main bearings where not sized for the load.

Honda CB 350 Twin from 1972. My first four-stroke machine (it was used, when i bought it). I removed the name and type plates, filled the mountings with putty and repainted it with a mixture of gold-metallic, black-metallic and deep green-metallic paint.
The engine was taken apart. I placed the parts on a big piece of cardboard in the living room - the parts were organized in numbered order to put everything together exactly as it was before. I had never dismantled an engine that much before.
The rocker arms and ports were polished and every part that was worn, was renewed. This operation gave 5km/h more on top (175 km/h) and a better fuel economy.
In the movie "Girl with the dragon tattoo" a cafe-racer modification of a CB 350 is driven by Rooney Mara, the actress playing Lisbeth Salander.

A friend of mine had seen my paintwork on the 350 and the paintings/drawings I made. Could you combine it? he asked. So I did. His Honda CB 450 got a picture on the petrol tank.

She was irresistible  - and still is.
The Marriage. We drove from the Church on Anne-Mettes CX. It was a rainy day, but who cared, we just married and still riding a bike.
Yamaha SR 500

Our first daughter (3 months old in this picture) on her first longer trip (1800km) in the sidecar of an old MZ 250.
She also liked it in a Moto Guzzi sidecar.
Here she is (almost 10 years old), standing beside the Honda NTV 650

The Winterbike. Honda CBF 125
The All year bike. Yamaha XT 600 Z Ténéré
